In 2025, stormwater infrastructure in the United States received a D grade from the American Society of Civil Engineers based on its current condition and anticipated future demands. Over the next 20 years, more than $630 billion in improvements to centralized and decentralized wastewater, nonpoint source, and stormwater infrastructure will be required. Of this, stormwater infrastructure investment needs make up an estimated $115.3 billion.
During an upcoming One Water Webinar, the US Water Alliance will provide an overview of the growing challenge of funding stormwater infrastructure and host a conversation centered on practical steps for establishing a stormwater utility, including key considerations and strategies for implementation. Together, the speakers will explore how stormwater utilities can help communities build long-term capacity to address stormwater challenges and invest in more resilient infrastructure.
