Key Issues

Affordability & Access

It is in our collective national interest to provide clean, affordable water and sanitation services to all people—yet national water rates continue to rise, putting economic pressure on customers and utilities and sacrificing our nation’s public health. Further, our research uncovered that over two million Americans lack access to running water and basic indoor plumbing, and many more live without sanitation. And due to aging infrastructure, climate change, fragmentation of water systems, a growing workforce crisis, and a lack of funding, millions more are on the verge of losing water access.

To meet these numerous and urgent challenges, our network is committed to identifying and advancing solutions to shift the status quo and make affordable water a nationwide reality.
