Nando Micale, FAIA, AICP, is a Senior Fellow at the US Water Alliance, a national nonprofit organization advancing policies and programs that build a sustainable water future for all. He leads the Philadelphia office of LRK, a national planning and design firm, and is focused on inclusionary housing at multiple scales across the country. Before LRK, Nando was a Principal with WRT, where his career was built on collaboration with urban planners and landscape architects. At WRT, many of his projects were at the intersection of development, equity, water issues, and place-making. Nando is on the advisory board of the Philadelphia Urban Land Institute and serves on the Small Impact Development Council, which highlights projects in neighborhoods that have been historically underserved. For 25 years, Nando has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, where he has taught Urban Design Principles and Theory, City Planning Studios, and is currently teaching the Urban Design Capstone Studio, which is focused on equitable, resilient solutions for development in North and South America. In addition to volunteering with local nonprofits that advance wellness, resiliency, and equity, Nando enjoys time in his town’s community garden.
