Every October, thousands of people and organizations across the country come together for Imagine a Day Without Water—a national day of action to highlight the value of water in our daily lives and the systems that deliver it. This year, we’re giving a soft nudge to a timely theme: “Imagine a Day Without Water – and the Businesses That Rely on It.” From restaurants and hospitals to manufacturing and tech, nearly every local business depends on reliable water. While we welcome all forms of participation—from art contests to school events to policy roundtables—this year’s suggested theme aligns with the Value of Water Campaign’s national efforts to engage business voices and uplift water’s role in a thriving economy.

Join us on August 19 for a conversation with Value of Water Campaign Steering Committee member Wes Sydnor of Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District and Emily Simonson and Maura Jarvis of the US Water Alliance. Together, they’ll explore why visibility matters now more than ever, how communities are rising to the occasion, and how this year’s day of action can support broader efforts to build public and political will for water investments.

You’ll come away with:

  • Inspiration and examples of what works
  • Ideas to engage your community
  • Tools to help you build support for life’s most essential resource
