Join the US Water Alliance on July 9 for a conversation on how Regional Water Workforce Collaboratives can help develop shared strategies to address utility and community needs.

The water sector’s workforce crisis is increasingly a front and center issue. Nearly 1.7 million workers are employed in water-related jobs nationally – with up to a third eligible to retire in the next decade. As experienced workers retire in large numbers, the sector risks leaving critical roles unfilled and the loss of decades of specialized knowledge. At the same time, there is a clear need for jobs with family sustaining wages and benefits in our communities – which water industry jobs can reliably provide. However, community members often do not have information about or access to water industry careers. The sheer magnitude of the challenge compels us to consider ways we can come together to solve it.

This webinar will highlight findings from a joint US Water Alliance and Urban Institute project funded by the Water Research Foundation. The conversation will explore how Regional Water Workforce Collaboratives can help build diverse talent pipelines, create good jobs and meet urgent water workforce demands. Using real-world examples from across the country, speakers will offer practical insights on how to plan, launch, and sustain collaborative approaches to solving regional water workforce needs.

This webinar is free and open to the public.
