The Water Agency Leaders Alliance

The US Water Alliance serves as the fiscal sponsor for the Water Agency Leaders Alliance (WALA), an independent, self-directed coalition of executives from public water and wastewater utilities working on equity issues in the water sector. WALA was formed in 2013 to elevate equity, water affordability, and workforce challenges. It now comprises over 50 utility executive leaders committed to the importance of promoting equity in the water sector.

How We Work

WALA has been particularly instrumental in addressing and advancing water workforce strategies—helping develop legislative language to create the first-ever water workforce training grant program.
