In 1920, women made up about 20 percent of all workers in the US labor force. A century later, that number has more than doubled, with women accounting for 47 percent of our nation’s labor force. So why is it that today, only 14.9 percent of the US water workforce is female? It’s time for our sector to enter the twenty-first century, and it’s up to all of us to change the tide and create pathways for women to achieve successful water careers.
