Today the hosts of Moving America Forward: A Presidential Candidate Forum on Infrastructure, Jobs, and Building a Better America announced the first candidates to confirm participation in the upcoming forum. U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar and Mayor Pete Buttigieg have confirmed they will participate in the forum at the University of Las Vegas on Sunday, February 16. This groundbreaking forum will be moderated by Jerry Seib, Executive Washington Editor of The Wall Street Journal, and Jeanne Cummings, Deputy Washington Bureau Chief of The Wall Street Journal. The forum will also be live broadcast on C-SPAN and livestreamed on CSPAN.org.

The candidate forum, titled “Moving America Forward,” is organized by the non-partisan group, United for Infrastructure, and the host committee includes the International Union of Operating Engineers; Transportation Trades Department, AFL-CIO; North America’s Building Trades Unions; Transport Workers Union of America; American Society of Civil Engineers; American Public Transportation Association; American Council of Engineering Companies; American Road and Transportation Builders Association; Value of Water Campaign; Association of Equipment Manufacturers; Airports Council International-North America; and Build Together.

Radhika Fox, CEO of the US Water Alliance and Executive Director of the Value of Water Campaign, said: “Infrastructure – and water infrastructure in particular – is a uniting issue for voters across the country and the political spectrum. We are proud to be a part of this presidential candidate forum on infrastructure issues because it is critical to have a conversation now about the future of our water. How will we all build infrastructure that stands up to climate change? How will we replace systems that are 100 years old? How will we build pipes, plants, and pumps that will last for generations to come without burdening low-income families that can’t afford rising water bills? These are urgent and important topics we want to know all the presidential candidates are thinking critically about. We’re excited to hear their answers on February 16 in Las Vegas.”

The candidate forum will be open to the press. See additional details below.
