One Water Leadership Institute: Water Equity

Date TBD

Louisville, Kentucky

Hosted by the Louisville MSD and Louisville Water

Water is a force for equity and opportunity. Water utilities are anchor institutions for their communities: they safeguard public health, protect the environment, and create economic opportunity. But no one entity can solve the water challenges facing vulnerable communities—whether it’s unaffordabile rates, water quality, flooding, and more. Cross-sector collaboration between utilities, community organizations, environmental groups, and other local stakeholders is key to building thriving, equitable water systems and communities.

Hosted by the Louisville MSD and Louisville Water, the Water Equity Leadership Institute will help participants build the knowledge and skills they need to implement equitable water management practices. Participants will gain insights on how to address water equity challenges like community engagement, affordability, workforce development, and climate resilience. They will leave the Institute with concrete tools to identify water equity challenges and develop collaborative solutions.

One Water Leadership Institutes are free of charge for Alliance Members. Two breakfasts, two lunches, a networking dinner, and an optional site visit are included. Attendees are responsible for lodging and transportation to Louisville.

An Alliance member organization may send up to two staff, but additional individuals from the same organization may be added to the waiting list.
