US Water Alliance members shoulder tremendous responsibility: they advocate for our water, they protect public health and the environment, they deliver a life-sustaining resource, they research and develop cutting-edge innovations. With those kinds of pressures and demands, it is reasonable to expect that most water stakeholders spend all their time doing the work, and very little time focused on how to tell the story of their work.

But with new challenges facing water, strategic communications is increasingly critical to an organization’s success. This members-only One Water Leadership Institute is designed for people in decision-making positions about an organization’s communications. The Alliance developed a custom two-day institute for 40 water leaders to learn best practices for strategic communications for their organizations and to network with peers exploring similar communications challenges.

Institute Objectives
  • Build deeper understanding of strategic communications and how to advance a One Water message;
  • Learn best-in-class practices for branding, developing strategic communications plans, persuasive messages and campaigns, and engaging diverse stakeholders through compelling storytelling;
  • Apply the strategies and skills learned to unique communications challenges at home; and
  • Engage in high quality peer-exchange and learning with fellow US Water Alliance members from across the country.

One Water Leadership Institutes are free of charge for US Water Alliance members. Two breakfasts, two lunches, a networking dinner, and an optional site visit are included. Attendees are responsible for lodging and transportation to San Jose. Space is limited so please register now! An Alliance member organization may send up to two individuals, but additional individuals from the same organization may be added to the waiting list.
